Internationally educated in New York and Europe, Maria embarked on a beauty journalism career. It was then that Maria’s entrepreneurial instinct foresaw the potential of a luxury skincare range which would incorporate her grandmother’s beauty secrets. Maria wanted to combine these “secret” ingredients with the 21st century technology.
In 1999, in whilst Maria was discussing her ideas for a new beauty range, having moved from New York to London, her husband Stratis, an investment banker, saw a huge potential and decided to help set up the company, and Rodial was born (Rodi being the greek word for pomegranate, one of the most powerful anti-oxidants in the cosmetics industry).
Rodial is based in London and is now recognized as a leading global brand with currently 200 stockists worldwide and a huge celebrity following. Maria herself has become a celebrity in her own right, regularly featured in glossy magazines and TV appearances worldwide. She lives in a Chelsea townhouse in London with her husband and two sons, juggling a business with a family and a very active social life.
