Vibrating Mascara: We Don’t Get The Buzz

mascara.

We’re always looking for new and original beauty ideas here at BeautyExpert, but the new fad for vibrating mascaras has us somewhat baffled. I’ve tried several out and while the wand vibrates well enough, the vibrations are all at the top end of the wand where the battery is stored and don’t seem to effectively reach the bottom end where the brush is. In fact, I’d go as far as to say they don’t work any better than regular mascaras but just have the extra annoyance of an irritating noise. We say, gimmick, not great gadget, so stick with your trusty favourites.

A quick poll around the office finds our beauty buyer, Suzi, currently addicted to Caudalie Vinosource Riche and Caudalie Moisturising Concentrate; our marketing guru, Shereen,la2week has just come to the end of LA 2 Week Miracle, and I’ve just started the very same fortnight fabulizer! Suzi is cleansing and toning with Gatineau, while I’m whipping it all off with Saaf Cleansing Balm.

There have been several reports of DIY Botox kits now available, meaning anyone can get hold of it and self-administer. While I’m all for the price of Botox coming down, this is the worst possible way to do it. A good Botox practitioner will understand all about the workings of facial muscles; their exact location, their depth and length so there is very little possibility of it all going awry. They’ll also be aware of how much Botox to inject to each muscle to avoid the ‘frozen’ look. The thought of doing my own Botox is akin to the thought of removing my own kidney. Needless to say, we’d strongly suggest that you don’t attempt your own needle-led facial rejuvenation!
